Welcome to the GPISD Fine Arts Department The Fine Arts Department of Galena Park Independent School District includes the areas of art, dance, music, and theater. Also included under the Fine Arts are booster clubs, cheerleading, communications, drill teams, fund-raisers, and journalism, speech and debate.
Fine Arts Mission The mission of the GPISD Fine Arts Department is to educate every child in the District, in partnership with other academic disciplines, by empowering each to use their minds more creatively, inspiring them to be life-long participants and supporters of the Arts, so that through the uniqueness of the Arts they will discover and share the uniqueness in themselves and others.

UIL Celebrates 100 years The University Interscholastic League was created by The University of Texas at Austin to provide leadership and guidance to public school debate and athletic teachers. Since 1909 the UIL has grown into the largest organization of its kind in the world.

Band of Gold Honored at Board Meeting Band directors and drum majors from the Galena Park High School Band of Gold were honored at the January 11 Board Meeting. Mark Richard, head band director; David Singletary, assistant band
director; Charlene Richard, color guard director; and Martin Quiroga, percussion director; were honored along with Eric Olmos, head drum major, Eduardo Duran, assistant drum major and Ruby Favela, color guard captain. The Band of Gold was the only band from UIL Region XIX to advance to the UIL State Marching Contest and this marked only the second time in school history that the GPHS Band of Gold has advanced to the State Contest. The Band of Gold received the top rating of First Division (Superior) from all judges resulting in their fourth consecutive UIL Sweepstakes recognition.
North Shore Senior High Presents "Annie" The North Shore Senior High Fine Arts Department will perform the award-winning, hit musical "Annie". Performances are February 18, 19, 20, 25, 26 at 7:00 PM and February 24 at 5:30 PM in the NSSH auditorium. Tickets may be purchased at
