The Fine Arts Department of Galena Park Independent School District includes the areas of art, dance, music, and theater. Also included under Fine Arts are speech, debate & journalism, cheerleading, drill teams, fund-raising and booster organizations.
GPISD Music Teachers Attend Workshop:
Normandy Crossing Elementary and Sam Houston Elementary music specialists, Sarita Napoleon-Mills (left) and Alayna Lowrie (right) attended the Conversational Solfège workshop at the University of North Texas this summer. The workshop was conducted by reknowned educator John Feierabend (center). Participants explored a curriculum that grows out of tonal and rhythmic elements that exist in the folk song literature of this country.
